Ein Konzert für niemanden.
Manchmal kommt direkt beim Fotografieren dieses Gefühl hoch – „das ist jetzt etwas Besonderes“. Besonders in diesem Fall, weil ein Motiv ganz zufällig gefunden wird, das für etwas sehr aktuelles steht. Ein Musikant, der eine Barriere direkt vor der Nase hat, dahinter eine Fläche, wo ein Publikum sein könnte – nur ist die Fläche leer. Sprich: das Corona bedingte, lange andauernde Auftrittsverbot für Musiker – nicht nur im eigenen Land sondern in vielen Ländern rund um den Erdball.
Stell dir vor: du hast einen Beruf gewählt, dein ganzes Herzblut und sehr viel Lebenszeit investiert… dann fällt plötzlich von jetzt auf gleich die wichtigste Einnahmequelle (und Bestätigungsquelle) komplett weg, und du kannst nichts dagegen tun. Dieses Bild widme ich allen Musikern sowie allen anderen Menschen, die von Konzertveranstaltungen leben.

This is one of those photo moments that immediately feel special, right on the moment of discovery. Stumbling across this image, immediately after a long period of severe COVID restrictions which applied to all forms of public performance: a setup that accidentally happens to express that very situation! A musician playing immediately behind a barrier that’s been installed after the beginning of their performance, with an open space on the other side. That empty area would normally provide space for the musician’s audience.
Imagine choosing a form of work, putting all your effort and years of your life into it, only to find yourself to lose your most important source of income for at least a whole year, with unsure months ahead? This image is dedicated to all musicians and to all those whose job is to enable live concerts to actually happen.
